Arredi Francigeni

The concept for the project of Arredi della Via Francigena is based on a contemporary reinterpretation of one of the archetypal elements that characterize the pilgrim of the Via Francigena: the travel stick.
A key element in the culture of the traveller, which recalls strongly from the morphological point of view, precisely for its form, and from the conceptual point of view, because it evokes its structural function, the pillar element.

The "travel sticks" were ordered according to a modular square mesh, 1.20 m x 1.20 m, sized to facilitate the passage of two people at the same time.
To strengthen the idea of aggregation and enliven the system, offering new experiences to the most canonical public furniture, the complex has been designed on several levels.

The structure was made of white to symbolize purity, sacredness and faith.

While the frame of the nets is blue, like the European flag

that accompanies the famous logo of Via Fancigena.
